CBD Breakfast Secret - Parlour Lane Roasters

Parlour Lane Rosters is great little street side cafe between the State Theatre and Topshop in the heart of CBD. It's made that much more special as it is surrounded by abstract fashion artworks and the vibes of theatre.

A group of friends decided to eat breakfast at Parlour Lane Roasters before work and I was only too happy to jump on board. I was enjoying the coffee so much that I forgot to take a photo of it. The cappuccino provided the much needed punchy wake up oomph in the morning. I looked at the wonderful orders of my friends - fruit toast with a fusion of buffalo and ricotta chees and topped with marinated strawberries, and poached eggs on a bed of fried Japanese mushrooms and topped with crispy pancetta. After a long time debating which one I should get, I went for the gutsy poached eggs!

Luckily, my eggs were perfectly poached with a melting centre of flowing yolk. El's eggs were a little overcooked though but she did manage to try some of the eggs with oozing centre.

The mushrooms were not just your usual boring button mushrooms. These babies were of the Enoki (popularly used in hotpot) and maitake sort. Delicious! The pancetta was crispy and salty, just the way a glorified cured pork belly should be. Nom nom!
